Director RDD visits Budgam, takes stock of dev works

BUDGAM, MAY 04: Director, Rural Development Department (RDD), Kashmir, Qazi Sarwar said that efforts are on to restart all works relating to labour oriented schemes under RDD on fast tract basis across the district.

He said that each Panchayat will prioritize a minimum of two works for execution in first instance.

The Director was chairing a review meeting convened to review the status of developmental works and other projects under RDD.

The meeting was attended by ACD, Executive Engineer, REW, all BDOs, AEEs and other concerned.

Taking a detailed review of block wise status of developmental works under execution, the Director reviewed the preparations to negotiate impending requirements to achieve the targets in a given time frame.

ACD Budgam, Nuzhat Qureshi apprised the meeting about the status of works completed till date, scenario of ongoing works plan presently under execution across the district. It was also given out that annual sector plan for 2020-21 stands already approved.

During the meeting the director asked the ACD and other concerned officers to keep liaison with District Administration to facilitate hassle free movement of requisite men and material after obtaining due permissions from the concerned authorities in their respective areas. He also directed for installation of citizen information board for the convenience of people, visiting panchayat halqas. He emphasized that works under MGNAREGA and PMAY should be prioritize for early completion keeping in view that under privileged and huge bunch of labour class receive guaranteed wages under these schemes.

He reiterated that AADHAR seeding shall be done at an earliest and the targets envisaged under PMAY-G achieved within set time period. He directed concerned to minimize the shortfalls to zero level in the execution and completion of works, for this a close synergy among allied departments/agencies need to be maintained and the works under 14th FC should be completed without any delay.

With the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic scenario the director urged upon all officers and employees of RDD, Budgam to envisage their cooperation and support to SHG and NRLM and women Development Corporation to support District Administration.
