5 family members test positive for Covid-19 in Baramulla

Baramulla: Five family members, all primary contacts of a policeman who was tested positive last Sunday, in Malpora Narvaw tested positive for Coronavirus on Monday, a health official said .

The sudden surge in the positive cases in Baramulla has put authorities and administration on alert. Authorities have been insisting people in the area to follow the lockdown restrictions.

The Malpora village has so far witnessed 12 positive cases of Covod19 which the highest number in the district.

“Within three days, 14 primary contacts of the cop have been tested positive for the virus, among them four are policemen,” the official said.

The Baramulla administration has so far quarantined over 87 people and all of them are primary contacts of earlier tested positive contacts of cops, woman and doctor.

Interestingly, all 23 contacts of the old town woman have tested negative including two doctors and several paramedics of health block Sheeri.

People of the area hailed efforts of BMO Sheeri.
