Director Horticulture Kashmir visits Zakura Fruit Plant

SRINAGAR:  Director, Horticulture Kashmir, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, visited fruit plant, Zakura. He was accompanied by Chief Horticulture Officer, Srinagar and other officers.

During the visit the Director took stock of various activities at the Fruit Plant including de-weeding, hoeing and other operations going on in the nursery.

He directed the concerned to ensure that all operations at the Plant was completed in a set time frame besides maintaining the  departmental nursery while following the guidelines and SOP related to COVID-19.

On the occasion, the Director   distributed face masks and protection gear among the employees of the department.

Later, the Director visited various orchards in the area where the pesticide spray is going on and asked the officers to provide all technical support to the orchardists besides, financial support being provided by the department under various developmental schemes.

He also asked the officers to keep watch on encroachment of government assets (if any) and furnish report, so that action as warranted under rules is initiated against encroachers.
