PULWAMA: District Authorities Pulwama today urged upon the people not to be complacent regarding the threat posed by the Corona virus (COVID-19), understand  the gravity of the situation and behave accordingly.

Authorities reiterated that severe restrictions are already in place and people are advised to adhere to the Government orders religiously.

DM said that exact field status will be known once house to house survey is completed in these areas, which is going to commence from tomorrow as directed by Government through online Swasthya Nidhi Mobile App.

He further added   that community needs to understand that it is very premature to draw any inference at this stage and appealed people for universalize the mask usage and  adoption of safety measures including social distancing and sanitization. He added that an intensive Rapid Antibody testing will start in the district soon.

Senior Officer from the Administration said that strict vigil is being maintained on the public movement in the areas bordering Shopain and Budgam, where numerous villages have been declared Red Zones and  major roads connecting these districts are on a regular guard and movement is being constricted. Besides, strict vigil is being maintained on the public movement in the areas bordering Shopain and Budgam many villages including Heerpora ,Beminpora, Meemendar  ,Palpora ,

Sindishirmal ,Kanipora  ,Sedow and  Kanidajan ,palar ,Batpora have been declared Red Zones.

He also appealed   people to be vigilant and report to authorities regarding any instance of violation of lockdown orders advised them to cooperative. He said no Inter-District movement is being allowed except in case of medical emergencies .He appealed community leaders to create awareness among the masses in this regard.

Meanwhile, CMO Pulwama, said that there are more than a hundred people under quarantine and continuous testing is being done to rule out any positive COVID-19 case, in the district.

She said that 134 test reports are still awaited and aggressive testing is going on in all the blocks. She added that it is premature and unwise to declare district as COVID-19 free.

The Seven  Red Zone  Villages of Pulwama  which include  Khaigam, Sangerwani, Abhama of Tehsil Rajpora and Gudoora, Chandgam, Pinglena and Parigam of Tehsil Pulwama are under strict restrictions and people have been advised to abide by the orders as any violation willl invoke section 269 IPC( unlawfully or negligently doing something which is likely to spread infection of any dangerous disease to life) , section 270 IPC ( malignant act likely to spread infection of dangerous disease to life), section 271 IPC (knowingly disobeying any quarantine rule) and section 188 IPC ( for disobeying the Government  orders).
