DC Budgam inaugurates fumigation tunnel at District Hospital

BUDGAM: Deputy Commissioner (DC), Budgam, Tariq Hussain Ganai today inaugurated a fumigation tunnel, installed by Municipal Committee, Budgam at the entrance of Aga Syed Yousuf Memorial, District hospital Budgam.

The DC was accompanied by ADC Budgam, Dr Nasir Ahmad Lone, Medical Superintendent, Dr Rafiq Ahmad, EO Municipal Committee Budgam, senior doctors, Chairman, Municipal Council, Gazi Rohullah and other concerned.

Hailing the initiative, the DC said that the installation of fumigation tunnel was need of the hour to contain spread of Covid-19. He said that it will ensure sanitization of all visiting patients and attendants besides medical staff deployed at the hospital. . He said that ten more fumigation tunnels will be installed at different locations in the district. Urging public to adhere to the lockdown enforced up to May 3rd strictly.

Later, DC visited hospital and took on spot stock of the health facilities available for the patients there. He inspected various wards including, OPD, Operation Theater, Gynae wards and interacted with number of patients to get feedback from them about the quality of services being provided at the health institute. Laying stress on cleanliness and hygiene, he stressed on providing hassle-free health services to the admitted patients under proper protocol, to control spread of virus.
