Srinagar: As the nationwide lockdown stretches on, a lot of individuals who rely on day-to-day activities for generating income have been rendered jobless. In this situation, a lot of advocates will also not be able to continue their practice due to hearings of courts being restricted to essential and urgent matters only.

In response to the above closure, Adv Waseem Gul, Adv Mudasir Sarwar and Adv Asif Rashid through their Counsel Adv Mudasir Ahmad sought relief for practising advocates of Jk & Ladakh.

Earlier Waseem Gul who happens to be the Petitioner No 1 in the above Writ Petition has wrote by virtue of email to Hon’ble Chief Justice of J&K High court, Hon’ble Governor of UT of J&K, Chief Secretary of J&K and Secretary Law Department J&K regarding the plight of the Lawyers and sought sustenance allowance for the Practising lawyers of J&K and Ladakh.

Petitioners said that these steps have been taken in other states of Country like Orrisa, Delhi & Banglore etc and sought allowances of similar nature for advocates of J&K and Ladakh.
