Principal SKIMS Bemina commissions oxygen concentration plant for better care of COVID-19 patients

SRINAGAR: The Principal SKIMS Bemina (JVC) Dr. Reyaz A. Untoo on Saturday commissioned oxygen concentration plant with a capacity of 750Lpm to provide better care for COVID-19 patients in the hospital.

At present, 31 COVID-19 positive patients are receiving treatment in the hospital.

Speaking on the occasion, the Principal said that the work on the plant which has a standby compressor and dryer, was expedited for the better functioning of the designated Covid hospital at SKIMS, Bemina.

Besides, the Principal said that the plant can run 6 to 10 more ventilators over and above the existing four.

He stated that it will also help in increasing the bed strength from existing 20 to 80 to 174.

The Principal appreciated the efforts of Engineering Wing and Coordinator SKIMS Medical College in upgrading the infrastructural facilities required to upgrade SKIMS Bemina into a full-fledged COVID-19 hospital.

He complimented doctor, nurses, paramedical and other supportive staff for putting their best efforts in the management of COVID-19 patients.

Besides thanking Director SKIMS for providing necessary support, the Principal also thanked district administration, Srinagar for providing comfortable accommodation and other assistance.
