Advisor Baseer Khan conducts extensive tour along National Highway

SRINAGAR: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor and overall Incharge of Coronavirus Control Efforts (CCE), Baseer Ahmad Khan Saturday conducted an extensive tour of National Highway (NH) from Jammu to Srinagar to review lockdown measures and other arrangements put in place along the highway to prevent the spread of Coronavirus infection.

The Advisor inspected the arrangements put in place for local population at Chenani, Udhampur, Nashri tunnel, Ramban, Ramsu, Banihal, Jawahar tunnel, Zig mode, Qazigund, Anantnag, Toll Plaza Awantipora and Pampore.

Khan exhorted upon the concerned to implement lockdown strictly around the highway and initiate strict action against the violators.

Reviewing the arrangements, Advisor Khan directed concerned to make contingency plan for area of operation and earmark senior officers for essential services at major stops on the Highway.

Later, Advisor Khan accompanied by District Magistrate Anantnag, Bashir Ahmad Dar visited quarantine and screening centre’s established at Zig mode near Jawahar Tunnel where he inspected all the facilities provided to the suspected COVID-19 patients.

Khan directed the officials not to take any chance and follow the guidelines with utmost care, besides he also asked quarantined people to cooperate with the administration which is important for the well being of their families.

Advisor stressed upon the officers to show dedication, synergy and follow the directions so that the chain of Coronavirus infection will be broken at all levels in Kashmir Division.
