PULWAMA: District Magistrate Pulwama Dr Raghav Langer today appealed people to observe complete lockdown in the district and ensure strict adherence to the order issued in this regard. He also sought cooperation from the people to make lockdown a success which is necessary to break the chain of Corona Virus infection.

He requested people for maintaining social distance, avoiding large gathering and offering prayers at home to impede community transmission which is only possible when people would stay home.

“District Administration has setup quarantine centres at 21 locations in the district where above one thousand suspected persons can be quarantined” He added.

DM said that there is no need to panic as administration has put in place a mechanism to ensure uninterrupted supplies and deliveries of essential services to the general public at their door steps.

He further said that District Authorities have also issued directions to all wholesale dealers, stockists and drug retailers to dispense medicines used in the prophylactic treatment of COVID 19 only on the prescription of a qualified doctor. He said that the medical and para medical staff is fully equipped to tackle any eventually in the district and there is no need of panic buying of medicines.

He reiterated that except essential services no movement of people or transportation is permitted and violators would warrant strict action under Section 188 of IPC.
