94 people are in different quarantine centers in Baramulla, 409 under surveillance

Baramulla:  At least 409 people are under surveillance and 94 are in different quarantine centers in district Baramulla to contain deadly Covid-19 virus.

Official sources in Health department said that 409 people who came from outside the state or from other countries are under surveillance in which 94 people are in different quarantine centers setup by the district administration and health department for the safety of general public.

They said that around 78 people who completed their quarantine period of 14 days in different hospitals or quarantine centers are back to their homes. They said the most of the people are those who had returned from Umrah and from different colleges and universities outside the state and other countries.

Dr. Zulfikar Nodal Officer Covid-19 combat in Baramulla district said that 409 people are under surveillance and 94 people are in quarantine centers set up by the Health department and district administration in different areas of district including Baramulla, Sopore ,Uri and at other places.

He appealed people to cooperate with the administration and urged parents whose children are returning from outside state or countries to contact the Health department to check their health and well-being. He said that people should stay indoors and should follow social distancing.

Meanwhile, Senior Superintendent of Police, Baramulla Abdul Qayoom  said that to stay at home is not only safety for an individual but for the whole society, community, state and country at large.

While talking to media, SSP said, “As you know due to Covid-19 the highest deaths have occurred in Italy that are second top in the health care, and ours is very far from them. In order to curb this disease, we want to tell everybody to stay at home and stay safe, we care for you, for your family and for the whole society.”

In Sopore, following a Tabligi Jammat Associate was found positive, a large number people were seen making beeline outside Chest Disease Out Door Patient Department (OPD) in Sub district hospital Sopore.
