SRINAGAR, MARCH 24: The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Pandurang K Pole today chaired a meeting to review implementation of the directions passed by the High Court in Public Interest Litigation (PIL) regarding traffic management in the capital city.

Threadbare discussion was held on matters which include identification of more parking sites in left-out areas, status of land, functioning of mechanized parking, erection of signages, procurement of Digital Time Recording (DTR) machines for hourly parking sites, and other measures for Srinagar city.

The Divisional Commissioner directed the sub-committee which comprises of RTO, Joint Commissioner SMC & DSP Traffic to visit various locations of the city for the identification of parking slots and submit the report within a week for further course of action.

For smooth traffic management, he also directed concerned officers to compile a complete report immediately for other action.

Pole stressed officials to maintain inter departmental coordination and show dedication so that traffic congestion across the city limits is reduced in a phased manner.

VC SDA Vikas Kundal, VC LAWDA Tufail Mattoo, Commissioner SMC Gazanfer Ali, SSP Traffic City Javed Ahmad Koul, Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Khurshid Ahmad Shah, RTO Kashmir Ikramullah Tak and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
