GMC Jammu and its Associated Hospitals suspend OPD services

JAMMU, MARCH 24:  Pursuant to existing COVID-19 situation and to prevent the spread of Corona Virus and to optimize diversion of available man power and material resources for the care and treatment of suspected/confirmed patients of COVID-19 diseases, it was decided in a meeting that the OPD services at GMC and its associated hospitals shall remain suspended w.e.f 25.03.2020 to till further orders.

GMC administration has appealed to the general public of Jammu Division to stop the routine walk in OPD services at GMC and its associated hospital and requested to consult telephonically for their disease aliment from the list of doctors provided separately and available on the website www.gmcjammu.nic.in of GMC Jammu. The telephone consultation time shall remain within 10:30 am to 04:30 pm.

The doctor attending the said telephonic OPD were asked to follow all medical code of ethics and prescribe drugs in generic name with preservation of possible record of each telephonically consultation.

However, the emergency services shall continue as same. Further all the HODs were directed to furnish this office telephonic duty roster of consultant with their phone numbers to provide mandatory telephonic consultation services during OPD hours.

The said services shall not be valid for medico legal purposes.
