Ensure all returning from abroad are quarantined: DC Ganderbal

GANDERBAL, MARCH 24: The Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Shafqat Iqbal today convened a meeting of officers to review the preparedness in the wake of COVID-19 in the district and to review facilities being provided at Quarantine Centers established in the district.

The meeting was attended by SSP Ganderbal, Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, President Municipal Committee, Ganderbal, CMO Ganderbal, Executive Officer of Municipal Committee, besides BDC chairpersons.

During the meeting, the DC sought feedback from the designated Officers and discussed issues being faced by the officials while performing their duties.

The meeting also discussed threadbare various aspects regarding the prevention from deadly pandemic Covid-19. The CMO informed the Deputy Commissioner about the preparedness at quarantine wards at designated administrative centers in the district as per the prescribed protocol.

While reviewing the status of quarantining the people who have arrived from abroad, the DC directed the surveillance teams to quarantine every one returning from foreign countries as a precautionary measure.

The surveillance teams were also directed to remain available in their respective areas to monitor the situation at District, Block and Zonal levels to combat COVID-19.

He DDC urged the concerned to maintain record of inmates who are being quarantined in identified quarantined Centers of the district.

The DDC directed concerned officers to ensure the availability of all basic facilities in the Quarantine Centers and asked them to provide separate rooms for the persons who are symptomatic. He said that all rooms should be properly ventilated, besides arrangements of heating, lighting, electricity, water supply and food should be ensured besides, ensuring special arrangements for covered bins, washrooms, sanitizers and masks should be made available.

Appreciating the Municipal Committee Ganderbal for sanitizing public spaces and building by launching sanitation and fumigation drives he asked them to ensure round the clock sanitation and cleanliness in all administrative quarantine centers. It was further directed to ensure regular fumigation at all important places for the safety of people.

The DC also urged the BDC chairpersons to cooperate with the district administration by way of educating the public about the measures to break the chain of propagation of COVID-19.

The DC also requested the people to extend all cooperation in adhering to various advisories issued by the Government.
