PCI team visits Kashmir Press Club

SRINAGAR, MARCH 17: The three-member sub-committee of the Press Council of India (PCI) which is on a four-day visit to Kashmir today visited Kashmir Press Club (KPC) and interacted with the members.

President KPC, Shuja ul Haq briefed the PCI team about the functioning of the club, its members and related issues.

The PCI team is headed by Balwinder Singh Jammu and comprises Kamal Nain Narang and Syed Raza Hussain Rizvi as members.

Earlier in the day, the PCI subcommittee had detailed interactions with groups of media persons including representatives of scribes from Kupwara who briefed them about their day to day working and difficulties.

The PCI team assured them that their issues and difficulties will be taken up at appropriate levels.

Joint Director, Information, Kashmir, Haris Ahmad Handoo and other officers of the Department of Information were present on the occasion.

The PCI team also met Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Srinagar Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary and discussed functioning of the administration and its relation with the media.

The DC Srinagar apprised the visiting team of the functioning and activities of the Government in the District.
