PCI team visits Baramulla

BARAMULLA, MARCH 15: The three member sub-committee of the Press Council of India (PCI) which is on a four days visit to Kashmir today visited Baramulla. The committee interacted with members of media fraternity to get a firsthand appraisal of the issues confronted by them.

The PCI team is headed by Balwinder Singh Jammu and accompanied by two Members; Kamal Nain Narang and Syed Raza Hussain Rizvi.

Dy CM reviews post-flood scenario in Sunderbani, Nowshera

The team held detailed interactions with media persons representing various local and national newspapers, photojournalists, video journalists and news agencies who brought to their notice the difficulties faced by them in the discharge of their professional duties.

Earlier, District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Dr G N Itoo briefed the sub-committee about developmental scenario and various government schemes being implemented in the district. He said that Baramulla has performed exceedingly well in the execution of many centrally sponsored schemes and programmes.

Joint Director Information Kashmir Division, Haris Ahmad Handoo and other senior officers were present on the occasion.
