Two militants, ‘active associate’ killed in Shopian encounter

Rafiabad: A local militant was killed in a brief encounter at Shutloo area of Rafiabad in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district Friday afternoon.

Police said that a joint team of 32 RR and SOG, after specific information, gunned down a militant during a Naka at Shutloo village of Rafiabad. The slain has been identified as Mudasir Ahmad Bhat S/O Sonullaha Bhat of Shutloo. He had joined militant ranks a week ago, police claimed.

The shootout between militants and government forces took place at Shutloo in Rafiabad this afternoon. “In the gunfight, one militant was killed so far and searches in the area are still going on to nab his accomplices,” police officials said.
