Massive landslide forces 30 families to shift from Uri village

Uri: At least thirty families were shifted to safer places after a massive landslide hit Machikrand village of Uri damaging several houses.

After receiving the information, a special police team rushed to the spot and rescued the locals and also shifted thirty families to safer places in order to avoid any loss of human lives.

“Panic gripped the area after huge patch of land sunk due to recent rains triggering huge landslide and rockslide. Several houses were damaged partially and families have been shifted to safer places as sinking continues,” said Tariq Ahmad, a local resident.

Police and administration have appealed people to stay put at safer places and avoid venturing out in the affected area.
