SRINAGAR, MARCH 04: Special Secretary, Social Welfare Department, Rifat Arif kick-started a cleanliness drive under ‘Swacchta Pakhwada’ initiative, here today.
The Special Secretary, who is also In-charge, State Mission Director State Resource Centre for Women (SRCW) launched the drive in-collaboration with District Level Centre for Women.
District Program Officer, District Level Centre for Women, Zeenat Ara, Gender Specialist SRCW, Sameena Mir and other concerned were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Special Secretary said that the aim of organizing Pakhwada is to achieve the goals of sanitation, hygiene and open defecation free India under Swachh Bharat Mission.
She said that to generate awareness about sanitation and hygiene various initiative will be taken including swacchta rallies, plantation drives, and inspections of toilets in schools and public spaces across the district.
District Program Officer Zeenat Ara and Gender Specialist Sameena Mir also spoke on the occasion.
