DLSA Srinagar celebrates birthday of senior citizens at Ahata Waqar

SRINAGAR, FEBRUARY 29: Secretary, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Adnan Syed celebrated the birthdays of nine senior citizens in Ahata Waqar –day care and recreation center, here today.

Secretary DLSA said that the celebration was first of its kind and the concept has come from Chief Justice, High Court J&K, Justice Geeta Mittal, with the aim to spread smiles.

He said that celebration of birthdays of senior citizens will be a regular feature at the center.

Informing that DLSA is working on various projects to ease the problems faced by elderly, he said, in second week of March DLSA is planning to provide Golden Card to senior citizens.

Later, Secretary DLSA interacted with the group of senior citizens and assured them that their grievances would be resolved soon.

He said that regular geriatrics checkups are conducted at the centre and asked the civil society to come forward and lend a helping hand for a healthy and dignified life of senior citizens.
