Udhampur DLSA hosts cricket tournament

UDHAMPUR, FEBRUARY-28:- To promote the concept of Social Justice and to encourage the participation of youth in sports activities, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Udhampur organized a two day   cricket tournament, here at Delhi Public School, Udhampur in association with Department of Youth Services & Sports Udhampur.

The tournament was inaugurated by Chairman DLSA (Principal District & Sessions Judge), Udhampur, Mohan Lal Manhas in presence of, Secretary DLSA, Sandeep Kour, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Udhampur, Swaran Singh, Chairman DPS School, Para Legal volunteers, school children and a large number of public.

In the tournament, three teams viz Team of Court Employees, Bar Association and Prosecution wing of Jammu & Kashmir Police participated.

The inaugural match was played between Bar Association Udhampur and Judicial employees of district court Udhampur on Wednesday which was won by Bar Association by 30 runs. On the concluding day today final Match was played between Bar Associating and Prosecution wing of Jammu and Kashmir Police team which was won by Prosecution team by 19 runs. Gourav Khajuria of Bar team was declared Man of the tournament. Rahul Bargotra Captain of Court Employees team also scored 80 score in tournament

On the occasion, Chairman DLSA along Secretary DLSA, interacted with the cricket players.

In his address, Chairman DLSA commended the participants for their active participation in sports and also encouraged them to fully utilize their inherent will power and strength. He also gave away winner trophy to Kuldeep Bhat- captain of winning team and runner up to J.D Slathia- captain of Bar team. Participation certificates were also given to players who participated in the tournament.

In his address, Secy DLSA ensured players of full support in their future sports endeavours.
