KULGAM, FEBRUARY 27: Under Backyard Horticulture Scheme, DDC Kulgam, Showkat Aijaz Bhat today launched plant distribution drive here today.
Under the scheme various varieties of plants including Apple, cherry, appricot were distributed among beneficiaries. The drive will continue for three days.
Present on the occasion were Joint Director Horticulture, L.K Bali , CHO Kulgam and other concerned.
Speaking on the occasion, DDC said that under the scheme the department is distributing 26 thousand plants of various varieties on subsidized rates (with 90 percent subsidy) among beneficiaries of district.
He impressed upon the officers of Horticulture to provide technical support to fruit growers to give a boost to the sector.
