On school opening day, Handwara lecturer dies in road accident

Srinagar: A pall of gloom descended in Villagam area of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district when the news about death of a young lecturer reached the area.

Reports reaching to Kashmir News Service (KNS) said that the lecture was on way to school when he met with an accident at Herpora, Punzwa after losing control of his vehicle which collided with a electric pole, resulting in serious injuries to him.

The lecture has been identified as Mohammad Ashraf Qureshi son of Yahya Qureshi of Punzwa Villagam. An eye witness told KNS that soon after the incident he was rushed to District Hospital Handwara in unconscious conditions wherefrom he was shifted to SMHS Srinagar for advanced treatment. However doctors there declared him brought dead on arrival.
