Dr Jitendra Singh reviews progress on all centrally sponsored schemes in Udhampur district

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 23: Union Minister of State, PMO, (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER),  Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Jitendra Singh, today at Jammu convened exhaustive meeting with district administration of Udhampur to have a detailed review of progress on all Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSSs) being executed in the district.

The MoS, while assessing status of various CSSs being implemented in Udhampur district, reviewed progress on prestigious Devika Project asking the executing agency to ensure expeditious completion of this vital work. He also had a thorough review of all CSSs being executed in the district.

MoS asked the concerned officers to make sure that all development plans and identification of beneficiaries be done in consultation with PRIs. He asked the BDC Chairpersons to submit the list of left out areas that require road connectivity in consultation with PRIs to PMGSY department.

He stressed that main focus of government is to empower PRIs and advised the officers to cooperate and ensure the all funds, functions and functionaries are transferred to the PRIS as per government circulars.

While reviewing progress on National Highway, MoS asked the construction companies to provide job opportunities to the local un-employed youths in a transparent manner.

MoS said that with the initiative of government large number of industries are to be established in the UT of J&K and asked the local youth to come forward and join hands with these industrialists to start entrepreneurship in joint venture.

MoS also interacted with BDC Chairpersons of Udhampur district and listened to their demands and assured them that all their genuine demands will be resolved on priority.

MoS appreciated the initiatives of district administration towards welfare of society besides lauding the progress achieved under PM Kissan, Ayushman Bharat and other Centrally Sponsored Schemes in the district.

Singh asked DDC Udhampur to ensure timely completion of all pending projects.

MoS asked the health authorities to take up the matter with MCI regarding starting of first year MBBS classes in Medical College, Udhampur from this session.

Earlier, DDC Udhampur Dr. Piyush Singla gave Power Point Presentation highlighting the achievements recorded under different CSSs including MGNREGA, PMAY, PMGSY, Ayushman Bharat, PM Kissan, PMKVY and other related programmes.

DDC highlighted the special initiatives undertaken under these centrally sponsored schemes like ‘Jeene Do’ helpline which has been established under BBBP to increase sex ratio in the district, Back to School programme, establishment of Solid Waste Management Kill Waste Plant (Heat Based) with capacity of 250 kg per hour at Sui Jhakad Udhampur. He also elucidated achievements under 14th FC, MGNREGA, PMAY, PMGSY etc.

Among others, BDC Chairpersons, President Municipal Council Udhampur, ADDC, ADC, ACD, SE PMGSY and district officers were present in the meeting.
