JKEDI conducts 6-Day Entrepreneurship Development Programme under NSSH scheme

RAJOURI/DODA FEBRUARY 20: A 6-day Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) for aspiring entrepreneurs under National Schedule Caste Schedule Tribe Hub (NSSH) scheme concluded today at Rajouri and Doda.

The Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) was organized by Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) in collaboration with J&K Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB).

A total 47 aspiring entrepreneurs, 25 at Doda and 22 at Rajouri, completed the Entrepreneurship Development Programme.

The National SC/ST Hub is an initiative of the Government of India targeted towards developing a supportive ecosystem for aspiring SC/ST entrepreneurs. The program aims at to equip the youth of the marginalised section of the society with skills so that they can envision and create successful business ventures.

The programme team introduced the participants to the excitement, realities, challenges and opportunities in entrepreneurship.

The EDP schedule included lessons on basic business skills and performance improvement techniques. The candidates were taken on a field visit to successful business units around the districts and interacted with successful entrepreneurs.

Officers from J&K Khadi and Village Industries Board also interacted with the aspiring entrepreneurs.

The candidates were briefed about various enterprise creation schemes of Government of India and Government of J&K like Prime Ministers Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), Rural Employment Generation Programme (REGP), Seed Capital Fund Scheme (SCFS), Youth Start-Up Fund Scheme (YSLS) and Self Employment scheme of National Minorities Development Finance Corporation (NMDFC).

The candidates were felicitated with certificates and were encouraged to avail various enterprise creation schemes to create their business ventures and earn a dignified livelihood.  The officers of Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute and J&K Khadi and Village Industries Board attended the valediction ceremony.
