Div Com stresses on 100% coverage under Kisan Credit Card scheme

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 19: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma today directed the Agriculture department to ensure 100 per cent coverage of left out farmers under Kisan Credit Cards.

He issued these directions while chairing a meeting convened to review the status of Kisan Credit Card and Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM KSN) schemes.

Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Indu Kunwal Chib, ADC Jammu, Dr Tahir Firdous, senior officers of Agriculture, lead Bankers and other concerned were present in the meeting while other Deputy Commissioners along with concerned officer attended the meeting through video conferencing.

The Deputy Commissioners apprised the Div Com of the present status of KCC and PM KSN schemes in their respective districts.

The Div Com directed the DCs to ensure 100% coverage of beneficiaries under KCC asking them to cover the left out cases under the scheme with active involvement of Lead Bank officials. He also directed them to ensure speedy disbursement of compensation for crop loss among the farmers.

Meanwhile, the Div Com reviewed progress on establishment of drop boxes at panchayats, Jal Jeevan Mission, district environment plan, execution of Back to Village works etc.

Later, the Divisional Commissioner convened another meeting regarding Save Animals Value Environment.

The meeting was attended by officers of JMC, Animal Husbandry, PWD and other concerned departments while DCs of Jammu Division attended the meeting through video conferencing.

The Deputy Commissioner apprised the Div Com of the initiatives taken in this regard. It was informed that district administrations have identified land for development of cattle pounds in the districts.
