SRINAGAR, FEBRUARY 15: The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan today directed concerned officers that no construction activity shall be carried out in the existing parks and Gardens in and around the vicinity of Srinagar city till further orders as per court directions.

The Divisional Commissioner made these directions while reviewing directions issued by the High Court in PIL No. 9/2017.

While taking note of the High Court directions, the Divisional Commissioner asked Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) and other agencies to stop construction activities at the sites identified in the PIL.

The Divisional Commissioner asked the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar to look into various issues including the allotment of land to the JKCA for construction activities.

The Divisional Commissioner directed concerned officers to ensure that no construction activity is carried out at identified sites and stadiums till further orders from the Court.

Additional Commissioner Kashmir, VC SDA, SSP Traffic Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Director Floriculture, Joint Commissioner SMC, Sports Officers and other concerned officials were present in the meeting.
