JAMMU, FEBRUARY 14:  Shamsher Singh Manhas, Member of Parliament, today called on the Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu here at the Raj Bhavan.

The Lt Governor and  Manhas discussed about the developmental aspirations of people of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and various other issues relating to the public welfare.

Meanwhile, a public delegation from Bagwah area of Doda also called on the Lt Governor and apprised him of various developmental issues of their area.

The delegation comprising of Sarpanches,  Hem Raj Thakur and Abdul Latief Naik submitted a memorandum of demands pertaining to the upgradation of Lower High School at Manjmi, enhancing of health facilities, strengthening road connectivity, augmentation of water and power supply, establishment of medical training institute, release of payment under PMAY-G, honorarium of VDC members, development of Tourism facilities, opening of fair price shop and Bank branch, renovation of Government buildings etc.

The Lt Governor assured the members of the delegation to review all the genuine issues and demands projected by them. He observed that the Government is making dedicated efforts for strengthening the Panchayats in J&K to ensure development at grass root level.
