JK Ski, Snowboarding team shines in Nationals

Auli, Feb 09: In the ongoing National Ski and Snowboarding Championship (2020) being held at Auli, JK team put up a scintillating show by winning 3 Gold and 6 Bronze medals on the second day of the championship.

Talking to Kashmir Images, the coach of the team, Shabir Ahmad, while expressing his satisfaction over the performance of the team said that there was still a long way to go for the winter sports team and that much more opportunities could be availed in the future. He also said that among the winners were Arif Khan who won gold in the Senior category slalom while as in ‘Under 18’ category Arsalan Manzoor and Sadiya Aijaz got third positions in boys and girls category respectively. In the Under 21 Age Group, Sana Afzal Mir got third position and Faizan Ahmad Lone got first position while Azhar Fayaz won third prize in ‘Under 16’ category. Among girls in ‘Under 16’ category Vardha got first position. In the ‘Under-14’ age group, Roman-ul-Madina got third position.

In snowboarding Senior’s category, Mehraj-u-Din Khan got third position.

Meanwhile, WGAJK president Mohammad Abass Wani congratulated the team for its outstanding performance.
