JAMMU, FEBRUARY 04: Divisional Commissioner, Sanjeev Verma today convened a meeting to discuss issues related to West Pakistani Refugees and Displaced Persons (DP) cases of 1947, 1965 and 1971.

PRO Jammu, Mushtaq Malik, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Vijay Kumar Sharma, Tehsildars of Jammu district were present in the meeting besides Deputy Commissioner Samba and Kathua along with other concerned officers attended the meeting through video conferencing.

The Deputy Commissioners apprised the Div Com about the number of files of WPR and DPs received and approved in their respective districts. They further informed the Div Com regarding the total number of families of WPR in their respective districts. It was also informed that DCs and Tehsildars are in process of verification of family members.

The Div Com directed the DCs and Tehsildars to organise special camps and expedite the process of identification of families and ensure thorough scrutiny of the documents. He asked DCs to monitor the process of verification and verify the genuineness of families.

Later, the Divisional Commissioner reviewed the progress of work on Ring Road and Jammu Akhnoor Road projects in a meeting with concerned officers.

The meeting was attended by Project Director NHAI, Ajay Kumar Rajak, ACR, Vijay Kumar Sharma, SDM North, SDM South, SDM R.S. Pura, SDM Marh, SDM Akhnoor besides senior functionaries of NHIDCL, NHAI and other concerned officers.

The officers of NHAI and NHIDCL informed the Div Com about the work done so far on both the road projects and also discussed future work plan.

Div Com asked the executing agencies to remove the bottlenecks and expedite the pace of work to meet the timelines.
