Srinagar, Aug 03: The dilapidated condition of Muqaddam Mohalla-Batapora road has become a nuisance for the locals.

According to locals, after the installation of drainage system in the area, authorities didn’t repair the road properly. “The road is in such a bad condition that we have to park our vehicles almost one kilometer away from our home,” said a local.

“It is very difficult to walk on the road, let alone driving on it. We are always worried about children and elderly people as they may get injured while walking on the road,” said another local, Shakeel Ahmed.

Locals alleged that the contractor who has installed drainage system in the area told them that he is out of money and there is nothing he can do to repair the road.

When contacted Chief Engineer Roads and Building (R&B) department Kashmir, Sami Arif said, “I will look into matter and do the needful.”
