Handicrafts dealers asked to adhere to rules of Tourist Trade Act in letter and spirit

SRINAGAR, AUGUST 01:  The Handicrafts Department’s Quality Control Division has conducted surprise inspection of several Handicrafts outlets at Dalgate-Boulvard and Lal Chowk areas.

The inspection was conducted by the enforcement wing of Quality Control Division of the department under the supervision of Deputy Director Handicrafts (Quality Control).

During the inspection, the Handicrafts dealers, who are carrying out their business without valid registration, were advised to register their shops immediately with the Directorate of Handicrafts.

The dealers were also asked to desist from selling fake machine made items in the name of Kashmir Art, and also advised to affix tags depicting price, make and other specifications on the goods displayed for sale and also issue cash memos to the customers.

The dealers were asked to adhere to the rules of Tourist Trade Act 1978(82) in letter and spirit.
