SRINAGAR, JULY 30: National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of SKIMS Medical College today commemorated “Swach Bharat Summer Internship 2019” in the rural field practice area of Block Soibugh.

The programme was organized in collaboration with the Department of Community Medicine, SKIMS

Dr. Ashiq Rashid Mir and Dr. Sameena Yousuf, Programme Officer, NSS, were the Resource Person, assisted by Interns and student volunteers.

On the occasion, Biomedical Waste Management was discussed with FMPHWs of Soibugh Block at PHC Wadwan, and a DOAP pattern discussion on hand hygiene, personal and orodental hygiene was held at Government Girls High School, Soibugh.

Dr. Sameena Yousuf gave a separate session on Hygiene and Girl Child Safety. Flyers and pamphlets were placed at strategic locations within the school premises and distributed among students.

The certificate distribution among participants was done by the Principal, SKIMS Medical College Prof. Reyaz Untoo, Medical Superintendent, Dr. Shafa Deva, Coordinator NSS Dr. Abdul Majid and HOD Community Medicine, Dr. Ashfaq Ahmad Bhat in the auditorium of SKIMS Medical College & Hospital Bemina.
