JAMMU, JULY 30: Divisional Commissioner, Sanjeev Verma today reviewed the functioning of health department in Jammu division districts, including the supply of essential medicines, RNTC, Health and wellness centres, here at a meeting.

The meeting was attended by Director Health Services Jammu, Samir Mattoo, DTO, Jammu, Dr. Meenakshi Kotwal, STO Jammu, Dr Sanjay Turki, CMO, Jammu, Dr Danish Khan and other concerned while Deputy Commissioners of Jammu division alongwith CMOs and other concerned attended the meeting through video conferencing.

The Div Com stressed on reaching out to all patients requiring treatment for Tuberculosis and to maintain high TB treatment success rate.

While reviewing supply of essential medicines, it was informed that majority of districts have sufficient stock of medicines available.

The DCs of districts facing shortage informed that they have dearth of medicines, skilled staff for operating diagnostic machines, medical officers and paramedical staff in the health centres.

The Div Com asked the Director, Health Services to look into the issues and take appropriate actions to redress the same at the earliest.

The Div Com sought details of RNTCP to which the concerned officers informed that the the amount under the scheme has been disbursed to beneficiaries in their respective districts. They also informed about the number of patients identified and treated in the districts.

Various issues for strengthening the health services and to ensure improved health facilities to the people were discussed.

The Div Com directed the CMOs to use Hospital Development Funds in an appropriate way to provide improved health facilities to the public.

Meanwhile, the Div Com directed the DCs to ask Food Safety Officers for lifting samples and check the quality of eatable products in the market.
