SRINAGAR, JULY 29: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan, who is also Chairman of Regional Red Cross Society, today convened a meeting to review issues pertaining to galvanizing Indian Red Cross Society.
Various issues of the Society were discussed threadbare in the meeting. It was emphasized that there is a need to put the Society on modern lines and procurement of the latest emergency material that can be used in case of exigency.
The Divisional Commissioner stressed the concerned to hold seminars at village, school and college level to create awareness regarding the Red Cross Society. He also called for launching an intensive membership drive across the valley with the help of Deputy Commissioners for enrolling more volunteers whose services can be used for noble cause of Indian Red Cross Society.
General Secretary Indian Red Cross Society (J&K State) Kifayat Hussain Rizvi, Secretary Indian Red Cross Society (Kashmir) Mohammad Rafiq Mattoo and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
