SRINAGAR, JULY 27: The officers and officials of Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) have deeply mourned the demise of noted journalist and writer, Rahul Jalali who passed away at New Delhi early this morning.

Soon after hearing of the sad news, a condolence meet was held at the Directorate of Information which was presided over by Director, Information, Gulzar Ahmad Shabnam in which speakers recalled the contribution of Jalali in the field of journalism spanning over decades. They said his role in cementing the relations between the Department and the media would be inspiring for the younger generations. They also hailed his contribution in institutionalizing journalism in the State and the country adding the niche carved out by Jalali on the media canvas of the country is difficult to fill.
