Sopore, July 25: While demanding a probe, the family members of the Sopore youth, who was found dead under mysterious circumstance in Srinagar on last Sunday, staged a protest at Chankhan Sopore on Thursday.

According to reports, relatives and family members of deceased Abdul Rahim Marazi alias Gusha son of Ghulam Mohammad Marazi of Sofi Hamam Sopore assembled at Chankhan on Srinagar-Sopore highway and blocked the traffic. They were demanding a thorough probe into the death of Marazi.

The family members said that Marazi left his home with his friends on last Saturday and spend the night in a local hotel in Srinagar and the next day (Sunday) he was found dead in the hotel room.

They alleged that their kin has been murdered and demanded a probe so that culprits are punished as per the law.

Meanwhile, a team of police reached the spot and informed the protesters that a case with regard to Marazi’s death has been registered in Police Station Maisuma and investigation is underway.
