JAMMU, JULY 23: As part of the weekly public hearing programme, several delegations and individuals today met Advisor to Governor, K Vijay Kumar here at Convention Centre, Canal Road to apprise him about their issues, grievances and sought his intervention in redressal of the same.

Over 100 people in the form of 20 delegations and scores of individuals from across Jammu province met the Advisor. They projected the problems regarding civic amenities, health, road connectivity etc. Many of them, including government employees, projected their personal matters.

A delegation of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Jammu region projected various issues which included viability of  operating flights to Rajouri, Kishtwar, Kargil and other destinations under the special scheme, expediting the process of extension of runway at Jammu Airport, pick and drop facilities at Airport, starting of Jammu Chandigarh flight, beautification of Ranbir Canal and Ravi Tawi Lift Irrigation canal, imposition of fines on whom who dump garbage in the canals, creation of green park at Bhagwati Nagar.

The delegation also demanded AIR FM services in far flung areas, development of Suchetgarh border on the lines of Attari Border for promotion of tourism and many others.

The inhabitants of village Kandhote from Doda demanded construction of link road at Kandhote in tehsil Thathri and up-gradation of Sub-Centre to NTPHC at Kandhote.

J&K Amateur Athletics association raised the issue related to conduct of 31st North Zone Junior Athletics Championship 2018-19 at Jammu.

A delegation of Central Cooperative Bank Ltd retired employees demanded early release of pending dues.

Another deputation of unemployed youth of Bahu Fort area urged for engaging them in Gandola Cable Car Project.

A delegation of Jammu and Kashmir Reserved Categories Empowerment Alliance raised the reservation issues of SC/ STs in promotions as also in professional institutions.

Another delegation of Kisan Kalyan Samiti requested for protection of forests and nurseries in Jasrota Forest land.

All J&K Home Guard Welfare Association demanded framing of policy on the pattern of SPOs for their regularization. Similarly, a delegation of NIS certified instructors requested for continuation/ regularization of their services in Sports Council.

A delegation of displaced families of 1947 and 1971 whose land acquired by army in village Kharian asked for expediting the process for its final settlement.

The representatives of Rainawari Kashmiri Pandit Action Committee raised the issue of encroachment of temple land and properties.

Other delegations including students of ANMT School, newly selected sub inspectors, retired Police Officers Association members, CECIL Pharmaceuticals, J&K Freedom Fighter Association, in-service candidates also met the Advisor and registered their grievances.

Responding to the demands of delegations and individuals, the Advisor assured that all their genuine grievances, demands raised would be looked into and necessary action would be taken by the concerned departments.
