Kumar calls for beautification of Jammu city

JAMMU, JULY 23:  Advisor to Governor, K Vijay Kumar today directed beautification of Jammu city and its peripheries by landscaping, plantation of flowers and ornamental trees around main bridges, rotaries and Flyovers.

The Advisor was speaking at a meeting of the officers of Jammu Municipal Corporation, Floriculture and Forest Departments convened to discuss the plan for beautification of the city and its peripheries.

Among others present at the meeting were Director Floriculture, Babila Rakwal, DFO Urban Forestry division Jammu, Sunil Singh, Joint Commissioner JMC Pardeep Singh and other concerned officers.

The Advisor asked the concerned officers to prepare comprehensive short- and long-term plans for the beautification of Jammu.

He directed urban forestry to identify places for plantation in the city and start plantation drive.

For beautification of various rotaries, he asked the floriculture department to plant seasonal flower plants. He asked JMC to ensure proper cleanliness and check encroachment on and under flyover. He also stressed for beautification by way of wall painting, landscaping under flyovers and different chowks, triangles etc.
