Boniyar Naseer Iqbal Memorial emerges victorious in Boniyar Volleyball League- 2019

Srinagar, July 20: The week-long Boniyar Volleyball League 2019, organised by Boniyar Army Camp concluded with the highly anticipated, nail biting finals between Boniyar Dewdrops and Boniyar Naseer Iqbal Memorial.

The tournament which started off with the aim to facilitate the youth by providing a platform to identify local talent, promote sports activities and enhance the existing bonhomie in the region. The zeal and sportsman spirit exhibited by the contesting teams was testimony of the sporting culture and high standard of skills of youth of the region.

In the final match, Boniyar Naseer Iqbal Memorial emerged victorious in straight two sets against Boniyar Dewdrops in a keenly contested match. Trophies, medals and sports kit, to include tee shirts, shorts and volleyball were awarded to the teams, along with a cash prize of Rs 6000/- for the winners and Rs 4000/- for the runners up. Individual medals were also awarded for Best spiker, Best Booster and the Best player.

The event was witnessed by nearly 250 locals and stakeholders, to include Govt Officials, School authorities, village heads and large number of youths and locals. The Boniyar Army Camp Commander complimented the locals for making the event a grand success and exhorted the youth to nurture their skills further by constructively engaging themselves in sports and cultural activities. At the culmination of the event, the attendees and participants interacted with the Army officials over tea, followed by a group photograph.
