Srinagar, July 17: As part of the Annual calendar of activities of the Department of Youth Services & Sports J&K, Inter-District (Provincial Level) competitions in the discipline of Volleyball for under-14, 17 and 19 (Boys category) were conducted by DYSSO Srinagar here.
The competitions were conducted at different venues of Srinagar from 15th of the current month. A total of 303 boys representing eleven Districts of Kashmir Valley and Ladakh participated in the provincial level event. The participants including Student players and escort teachers were lodged at Youth Hostel Srinagar for the purpose.
A well decorated closing ceremony cum prize distribution function was conducted at Youth Hostel Srinagar were Director General of the Department of Youth Services & Sports Dr. Saleem Ur Rehman distributed prizes among the participating teams/players and later shared his valuable thoughts with the budding players.
Youth Services & Sports Department’s Joint Director Kashmir Bashir Ahmad, Accounts Officer Abdul Qayoom and other senior officers of the Department were also present on this occasion. In the same sports discipline competitions for Girl Student players shall begin from 18th of this month at various venues of District Srinagar.
