Srinagar: Police in Srinagar raided a gambling site and arrested gamblers in its recent action targeting the anti social elements of the area.
Five persons identified as Sajad Ahmad Sheikh resident of Drubgam Budgam, Aajaz Ahmad Bhat resident of S. D colony Batamaloo, Lateef Ahmad Sheikh resident of Barapathar Batamaloo, Showkat Hussain Gadoo resident of Amdakadal A/P Bemina Srinagar and Fayaz Ahmad Sheikh resident of Soibugh were arrested following a credible input about gambling activities in Sheikh Mohalla area of Lalbazar, said a police spokesman.
Playing cards and a stake amount of Rs 2125 was recovered from the gamblers.
Case FIR No. 34/2019 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Lalbazar.
