Tangmarg: Risking their lives and braving strong water currents of gushing Ferozpora nallha (stream), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel of 176 Battalion rescued and saved the life of an 18-year-old nomad girl who drowned after accidentally slipped into the stream while washing clothes on Monday afternoon. The incident took place at Chanpora Kunzer Tangmarg in Baramulla district.
“As the girl had slipped and was drowning in the tides and strong water currents, there was hue and cry for help. Alert CRPF personnel on duty wasted no time and jumped into the stream and rescued the drowning girl,” said a CRPF officer leading the team.
The  girl was identified as  Nageena, daughter of  Mohammad  Sharief Din of Nagrota Jammu who are temporally putting up at the banks  of Nallaha Ferozpora at Chanpora Kunzer.
After being rescued, the CRPF Jawans immediately shifted the girl to Sub District Hospital Tangmarg for treatment where she is stated to be stable.
Talking to Kashmir Images on phone, family members expressed their gratitude to the CRPF Jawans for the timely intervention that saved her.
