Ganderbal Police arrests drug peddler

Sopore: Police in its recent action against drug dealings in Sopore have arrested two drug peddlers at a checkpoint and recovered contraband substance from their possession.

Officers at a checkpoint established at Warpora crossing, arrested two notorious drug peddlers. Identified as Abdul Hameed Mir and Bilal Ahmed Chopan both residents of Janwara Sopore, they have been shifted to Police Station Sopore where they remain in custody.  Contraband substance has been seized by the officers in the instant case, a police spokesman said.

Case FIR No. 190/2019 under relevant sections of law has been registered and initiated investigations in the matter.

Meanwhile, in Ganderbal arrested a drug peddler at a checkpoint and recovered contraband substance from his possession.

Officers at a checkpoint established at Chinnar Kangan, intercepted a person and recovered 150 gm charas from his possession. He has been identified as Nawab Khan resident of Wangat Kangan and has been shifted to Police Station Kangan where he remains in custody, a police spokesman said adding, case FIR No. 39/2019 under relevant sections of law has been registered and initiated investigations in the matter.
