MC Yaripora organises seminar cum painting competition

KULGAM, JULY 10: A day-long seminar cum painting competition was today organized by Municipal Committee (MC) Yaripora in collaboration with Education department here at Government Middle School Yaripora.

The programme organized under Swachh Bharat Mission-Swachh J&K was based on the topic “Cleanliness is my Right, Cleanliness is my responsibility”.

Scores of students from various Government and private institutions participated in the programme and threw light upon the topic and highlighted the significance of cleanliness and responsibilities of people to keep environment clean and clear. The students also highlighted various issues which are threat to environment globally.

Speaking on the occasion, Tehsildar Yaripora Abid Gani Wani, who was the chief guest on the occasion, said that cleanliness is not the responsibility of only a few people but it is a collective social responsibility. He appealed people to join hands with the administration to make the district pollution free.

While applauding the Municipal Committee Yaripora for organizing such sensitization programme, he urged upon the authorities to organize such sensitization programmes on regular basis to make the people more environment conscious.
