IRCS Jammu organizes first-aid awareness prog

JAMMU, JULY 09: The Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu Region conducted a one-day first-aid awareness programme for the employees and caddies of Jammu Tawi Golf Course, Sidhra today.

During the awareness programme, Dr. Shelly Mahajan, Senior Anaesthetist, shared do’s and don’ts in situations like injuries, snake bites, accidents, fire incidents, electric shock, etc.

She also demonstrated how to handle fractures, arrest bleeding and administer Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). She was assisted by Kanchan Devi, Sup, Pharmacist, Red Cross Dispensary.

The awareness programme was aimed to make the employees and caddies learn to safeguard their own health and help others in case of emergencies.

It was said that first-aid knowledge is very valuable for both the individual and for the community as it enables to assist injured in the event of an accident or emergency situation until help arrives.

The IRCS Jammu said that such initiatives help in capacity building of the human resource available with an organisation which can further be utilized at the requisite time.
