DGP Prisons visits Tihar Jail, discusses correctional programs

NEW DELHI, JULY 8: Director General of Police, (Prisons), V K Singh today visited Tihar Jail, New Delhi to get acquainted with the best practices followed in the Prison.

Singh called on Director General Tihar, Ajay Kashyap, during which various aspects of prison management were discussed. They also discussed the salient features of newly adopted Delhi Prison Rules, 2018.

Later, DGP also visited various manufacturing units of the Jail like carpentry, weaving, paper, apparel, chemical, bakery, spice, etc. He also visited the school of Art in Jail number 4. He observed the Prison Management System functional in Tihar to understand the impact of digitalization on Prison Management.

Director General Prisons, J&K said that Tihar Jail is doing some notable work in the field of corrections and some of its innovative/ progressive correctional programs will be replicated in the Jails of J&K for the welfare of prisoners.
