Porter died of cardiac arrest: Army

Karnah, Jul 06: An army porter who died Thursday suffered cardiac arrest in Karnah sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, Army said in a statement today while refuting the media reports that he had slipped to death.

In the statement, Army said that Ghulam-ud-Din (49), son of Shah Mohammad, while on duty with his pony as porter experienced chest pain Thursday. He was attended by medical assistant and “administered with cardiac kit medicines”.

“After he felt better and was being evacuated, he felt breathless and was immediately administered oxygen. However, his pulse and BP dropped and he could not be saved,” the statement said.
