Chairman DSLA convenes meeting to enforce Environmental Laws

JAMMU, JULY 06: For the implementation of the Environmental laws, in letter and spirit, in District Jammu, a meeting was held in the office chamber of Vinod Chatterji Koul, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (Pr. District & Sessions Judge) Jammu.

The meeting was attended by Naushad Aluned Khan, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Jammu, Mayor Jammu, Chander Mohan Sharma, Municipal Commissioner, Pankaj Malhotra, Dr. Salim,  Health Officer, O.P. Bhagat Municipal Magistrate, Jammu, and other senior officers of district administration.

The purpose of the meeting was to protect the environment and to create ways/methods that would persuade people in implementing the environmental Laws and Rules, in their day to day life, so that Jammu District could have a healthy environment.

In the meeting, Vinod Chatterji Koul, stressed upon, that Environmental Right is an extension of the basic human rights, that mankind required and it means that all of us have a duty to protect the environment.

District Legal Services Authority Jammu will launch Tree Plantation Drive/Campaign on the onset of the Monsoon season starting from Zorawar Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu, on July 7, 2019 in collaboration with Forest Department, Social Forestry, Floriculture Department, Education Department/Institutions, Social Welfare Department and District Administration.

DLSA will also initiate a No Plastic and Garbage Campaign in collaboration with civil administration.

It will also launch a campaign to aware the Children and general regarding disposal of Waste Management and Cleanliness in collaboration with District Administration, Education Department.
