Langate: Panic gripped villages of Sehpora Qaziabad in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district when mysterious gas emitted while digging a bore-well and caught fire and Fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the flames.
The flames have also generated curiosity among villagers who are visiting the place in large numbers to witness it.
Geologists claim that the fire is due to methane emanating from decomposed organic matter. Meanwhile, no one was hurt in the incident. The fire flames continued to erupt when this report was being filed.
