DC conducts surprise inspection to check illegal mining, operation of stone crushers

KATHUA, JULY 03: – In order to check illegal mining and operation of Stone Crushers in Kathua, Deputy Commissioner, Dr Raghav Langar, today conducted inspection at various Stone Crushers surrounding Keerian-Gandial village along the bank of river Ravi.

During the inspection, all the Stone Crushers were found closed for want of different NOCs and license under SRO-302.

DDC said the district administration will ensure that there will be no illegal mining in the Ravi basin to protect the infrastructure constructed over these water bodies. He further banned mining in upstream and downstream of public infrastructure to protect these assets.

He directed the concerned to keep strict vigil over illegal practices and submit action report regularly.
